Story by Senior Airman Krystal England

    332d Air Expeditionary Wing

SOUTHWEST ASIA – A new maintenance squadron arrived at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, replacing the team that deployed from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina.

The squadron will be supporting the 494th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron with their F-15E Strike Eagles. The 494th EFS and 332nd Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron are both deployed from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Strike Eagles are dual-purpose aircraft capable of both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat.

“We are a ‘jack-of-all-trades,” explained Maj. Robert Campbell, 332nd Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron commander. “The F-15E is a multi-role fighter bomber capable for delivering precision day or night in bad weather or good. It is also capable of fighting in an air (battle), going toe-to-toe against some of the advanced air fighters in our enemies’ arsenals.”

“It’s a fantastic mission,” he said, adding that it’s their job is to get the aircraft ready to support the mission.

Campbell has confidence in his team to perform the mission.

“This is good team,” Campbell said. “Anytime the AFCENT (U.S. Air Forces Central Command) commander calls on us, we are ready to mobilize and ready to support. We’ve got the equipment, the people (and) the talent.”
