Obregon (T-AK 3006) during the Naval Beach Group 2 led Trident Sun 18 exercise onboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Naval Beach Group (NBG) 2 will teams up with the Army’s 11th Transportation Battalion to use the Roll On/ Roll Off Discharge Facility (RRDF) and shipboard cranes to offload military vehicles and equipment from the Military Sealift Command’s (MSC) USNS Obregon during Trident Sun 18, July 22 – 27.
During Trident Sun 18, NBG-2 is conducting Maritime Prepositioning Force Operations to provide training for both Active and Reserve Component Sailors and Soldiers with regards to the in-stream offload of military gear and equipment by use of Roll on/ Roll Off and Load On/ Load Off operations from an MSC vessel to shore.
