The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Medical supply chain sponsored a pep rally for the 2018 DLA Culture/Climate Survey March 14.

The Medical Culture Improvement Team, accompanied by leadership, handed out water ice and encouraged employees to participate in the survey during the hour-long stand-down.

“We would like to see the workforce participate in the 2018 DLA Culture/Climate Survey so that real changes impacting employees can be made,” Ryan Jeffries, a Medical CIT member, said. “Most of the CIT’s ideas are spawned from the survey responses. If people don’t respond, changes affecting the employees’ daily life will not be made.”

The team believes having support from the top of the organization will increase employee participation.

“The survey provides an opportunity for the workforce to let command know what’s going on in the organization,” Army Col. Alex Zotomayor, Medical supply chain director, said. “It helps us identify our strengths, weaknesses and where we need to improve as an organization."

The survey launched March 13 and will be open until April 17. The survey’s theme is, “Your Voice is Our Future.”

The supply chain’s goal is an 85 percent response rate for this year’s survey after receiving a 70 percent rate in 2016. To do so, the team has provided information at town halls, posted flyers throughout their building and plans to hold events throughout the duration of the survey.

“If you want a workplace culture of cooperation, open communication and a healthy climate, you should participate in the survey.”

DLA conducts the survey every 18-24 months to capture employee perceptions, identify strengths and challenges, enable action planning and create positive change.

Because of the 2016 DLA Culture/Climate Survey responses, DLA Troop Support created programs such as the Leadership Academy, command and supply chain brown bag lunches, and the command shadowing program.
