Pa. Guard Aviation Brigade Welcomes New CSM

28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. – The Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s 28th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade held a Change of Responsibility Ceremony at the 28th ECAB Armory here November 19, 2017.

Family, friends and fellow soldiers joined the 28th ECAB in bidding farewell to outgoing senior enlisted advisor Command Sgt. Maj. Dell Christine and welcoming Command Sgt. Maj. Sean Livolsi.

Lt. Col. Howard Lloyd, commander of the 28th ECAB, presided over the ceremony.

“Command Sgt. Maj. Christine has been an exceptional driving force in the aviation brigade and a great colleague,” said Lloyd. “Although we are losing Command Sgt. Maj. Christine, we have gained another great non-commissioned officer in Command Sgt. Maj. Livolsi. I have heard nothing but great things about his abilities. He respects and values his team and I have no doubt that he’ll bring new ideas and enthusiasm to the aviation brigade.”

Livolsi takes responsibility as the senior enlisted advisor of the 28th ECAB after serving as the support operations non-commissioned officer in charge for the 628th Aviation Support Battalion.

“This is a position of great influence and responsibility, and I am blessed to have been given this opportunity. I will approach every day remembering the honor and responsibility this position represents and I will strive to conduct myself in a manner worthy of being in this position,” said Livolsi. “This is a great organization and I’m humbled to be a part of it.”

Christine will serve as the senior enlisted advisor of the 166th Regiment’s Non-commissioned Officer Academy after spending almost 28 years with the 28th ECAB.

“Over the course of my military career I’ve had the distinct pleasure of knowing and working with some incredible people,” said Christine. “I leave this organization in very capable hands. Command Sgt. Maj. Livolsi is an outstanding person and leader, and will do amazing things.”

A Change of Responsibility Ceremony is a formal ritual that represents the transfer of authority and accountability from one senior enlisted advisor to another. The command sergeant major is the senior enlisted advisor to the commanding officer of a unit.
