MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. -- The Combat Center’s Commissary reopened its doors Oct. 21, 2017, following a week-long closure caused by a health code violation that was discovered after a routine inspection.
After the health code violation was reported, officials from the Defense Commissary Agency and the installation’s command worked diligently to restore the facility to the standards the patrons expect and deserve. A customized integrated management training plan was implemented for the store to take into account the environment in which it operates. The plan includes proactive measures, such as making sure store entries are properly closed when not in use, providing proper training for employees and promptly cleaning up spills.
During the reopening celebration the Commissary held a plethora of sales throughout the store, along with opportunities to enter a raffle and win prizes.
Military members have utilized commissary benefits since 1825. The safety, health and well-being of Combat Center patrons remain the utmost importance to the Commanding General, Maj. Gen. William F. Mullen III and his staff. The Combat Center will continue to ensure that quality resources are provided to families, employees and service members aboard our installation.
