KABUL, Afghanistan – Service members at Camp Eggers dined with a U.S. congressional delegation including Congressman Christopher Shay, R-Conn., and Congressman Jim Marshall, D-Ga. during their Aug. 20, 2008 visit to Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan headquarters in Kabul.
The visit was part of the delegation's fact-finding trip with American forces in the Middle East and Asia, including stops in Israel, Iraq, Qatar, Pakistan and central and eastern Afghanistan.
During their visit to Camp Eggers, the congressmen met with 15 service members from their respective states. The congressmen entertained questions and observations from their constituents and discussed their philosophies regarding future American involvement in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
