Scott Carey of the Naval Operations Security (OPSEC) Support Team addressed more than 200 military and civilian personnel from six Naval Oceanography commands at Stennis Space Center, Miss., on March 9.
"Whenever you're online, you're on the battlefield," Carey said during the presentation, "OPSEC and Social Networking," which discussed personal and professional measures all members can take to ensure critical information is safeguarded.
Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command's OPSEC team invited Carey to provide the training as part of the Navy's recommitment to maintaining the information advantage over its adversaries.
