BAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan -- 5.4 magnitude earthquake shakes OEF, tremors felt from Bagram to Kabul.

Just settling in to his morning routine here, Tech. Sgt. Johnathan Raford, non-commissioned officer in charge of administrative support for the Expeditionary Mission Support Group felt the earth shake and the half clamshell he calls his office rattle.

"At first I thought something was wrong with my chair or there was a heavy truck going by," said Sergeant Raford.

"I have grown accustomed to the ground shaking when the range is hot and there are controlled demolition explosions here, so I did not think much about it. An earthquake was the furthest thing from my mind." said Sergeant Raford.

Sergeant Raford is deployed here from Maxwell, Air Force Base AL.

According to Tech. Sergeant Leslie Orr, non-commissioned officer in charge of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, Operations Group, Combat Weather Team, "a moderate earthquake occurred at approximately 7 a.m (local) today.

"Sergeant Orr said 'that the center had been located in the HINDU KUSH REGION, AFGHANISTAN approximately 120 nautical miles from here. There have been reports of the effects of the quake from the Tower here at Camp Cunningham to the other side of the base."

Sergeant Orr is deployed here from Langley, Air Force Base VA.

There is no significant damage reported here at this time.
