The 3d MCDS food service team prepares meals for the soldiers of the 3d MCDS, providing nutrition and a boost in morale.
Sgt. Chaddrick Adams, shift leader for 3d MCDS food service team, said, "We provide meals to soldiers for nutritional support, we make sure they are properly fed after an Army Physical Fitness Test or to complete their missions or tasks at hand."
Refusing to reheat frozen meals, the food service team at 3d MCDS cooks their main courses from scratch. Although it may cost more hours in the kitchen, the 3d MCDS food service team deems it worth while.
"When soldiers express their appreciation for the meals and you see them looking forward to the food we serve, it boosts morale for us and them." said Staff Sgt. Tenisha Lynum, culinary arts specialist for 3d MCDS.
As the soldiers of 3d MCDS conduct training in preparation to deploy and administer health service support globally, the food service team ensures they do not go hungry in the process.
3d Medical Command Deployment Support is a senior deployable medical command and control headquarters, providing support to U.S. Army Africa and U.S. Army Central area of operations.
The 3d MCDS provides support and technical supervision for more than 6,000 Soldiers located in 21 states and Puerto Rico to prepare and provide trained and ready Soldiers and units toU.S. Army Reserve Command for mobilization.
