The 341st Missile Wing Company Grade Officers’ Council and the Top 3 teamed up to stuff the bus for children this upcoming school year.
The two groups encouraged others to donate school supplies to children and families in need. School supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, binders, and book bags are some of the items that have already been donated.
Once the items are received, they will be donated to Great Falls public schools and distributed throughout the school district.
1st Lt. Aaron Quick, 341st Contracting Squadron officer in charge of base infrastructure, said it is important for Airmen to get involved and give back to the local community.
“We set the example as community stewards and help give back to the community,” said Quick. “Hopefully (junior Airmen) will follow in the footsteps of the Top 3 and give back to the community in the same way.”
Master Sgt. Jeffery House, 341st Security Forces Squadron first sergeant, said he understands the importance of giving back as well as the feeling of needing to buy school supplies.
“My favorite part is helping the community,” House said. “I have four young children and three of them are school age. I know the burden of buying school supplies, so I could not imagine being in a situation where I could not afford those supplies.”
All supplies can be dropped off at the bus in the parking lot across from the Grizzly Bend from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Aug. 18.
