    841st Engineer Battalion

NOVO SELO, Bulgaria – The 841st Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve improves on roadway during Operation Resolute Castle in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. Operation Resolute Castle is United States Army Europe led, construction operation that spans from constructing roadways to infrastructure improvements across Eastern Europe which includes Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, and Hungary.

The construction teams are improving tank maneuver lanes 2,000 meters (approx. 1.2miles) long in order to increase capacity and capability of training areas. Private First Class Luis Lebron, grader operator, stated, “I love being here using the equipment, especially the grader. Pvt. 1st Class Lebron said, “the grader is perfectionist vehicle that gets the job done and it is much needed for this mission.”

The construction team ran into a few setbacks with the machinery and commended the maintenance team for their great 24-hour turnaround time to get the equipment up and running again. This is definitely a great working location for soldiers to get real world training and improve on their skill sets. Staff Sergeant Diego Perez and Sergeant Edwin Garcia-Llauger, 841st Engineer Battalion are both heavy equipment fuel transport operators. When asked about their thoughts of the mission, Staff Sgt. Perez, replied” it is a very good mission” and Sgt. Garcia-Llauger, replied, “I love what I do”.

The weather is a huge dictator for designating which area of the maneuver lanes can be completed. First Lieutenant Veronica Yambrovich, 841st Engineer Battalion, maneuver lane site leader, stated, “coming out here is a great opportunity to get soldiers train and I love when the soldiers are able to train on the equipment…the mission here makes the soldiers ecstatic to get a job completed.”
