NAF to hold surplus inventory sale

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. - Barksdale’s 2nd Force Support Squadron non-appropriated funds will be holding a surplus inventory sale Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at building 745 and Outdoor Recreation.

This sale will offer a variety of items ranging from new to used. Customers will find campers, dressers, nightstands, and stoves.

“This sale is for equipment acquired through NAF that we no longer need or use,” said Corinna Bridges, 2nd FSS Outdoor Recreation operations storage manager. “These items came from lodging and other NAF locations around base.”

Customers will have the opportunity to view items Oct. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Shoppers can walk through on the 29th and view what’s for sale,” Bridges said. “The items are set up in rooms, and shoppers can browse the selection to see if there are any desirable items.”

During the viewing, customers will have the option to begin biding on the rolling stock items such as campers, trailers and even dunking booths.

“Rolling stock items will be available for sale via sealed envelope bids,” said Paul Williamson, 2nd FSS Outdoor Recreation director. We will be revealing bids Oct. 30 at 4 p.m.”

The following items will be sold below market value:
• Campers
• One 7x16 trailer
• Couches
• Chairs
• Lamps
• Fans
• Hair Dryers
• Dinette sets
• Stoves
• Dressers
• Nightstands
• Microwave ovens
• Headboard and frames
• Dunking booths

“Everything displayed will sell at approximately 10 Percent of market value, for example, customers will be able to purchase a couch worth $750 for $75,” Williamson said.

Customers are reminded all winning bids need to be honored by 4 p.m. on Oct. 30.

“If you bid on more than one rolling stock item and win, you will have to honor all winning bids,” Williamson said. “All purchases need to be removed from the premises by 5 p.m. Oct. 30th with no exceptions, and all sales are final on the items leaving the building.”

All the funds generated from the sale will go back into the NAF. For more information regarding the sale, contact Outdoor Recreation at 456-7765.
