Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - Recruits of Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, improved their physical fitness at the battalion’s obstacle course July 8, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C.

Recruits endure many different physical training sessions to prepare them for the Marine Corps’ demanding standards. Delta Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 13, 2013.
