Mongolian Armed Forces 2nd Lt. B. Munkhbileg, with the MAF's Joint Training Center, translates as Gunnery Sgt. Mark Massalski and Lance Cpl. Samuel Ostic demonstrate a pressure point control hold during the Non-Lethal Weapons Executive Seminar field training exercise at Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia, Aug. 20. Throughout the NOLES exercise, instructors with 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force, led classes on how to use non-lethal weapons and tactics to control and incapacitate suspects while minimizing fatalities and permanent injury. Mongolia, hosting NOLES for the third time in 12 years, invited more than 150 personnel from the Mongolian Armed Forces and Mongolian General Police to participate in the exercise. Massalski, a non-lethal weapons instructor with 3rd LE Battalion, is from Townsend, Mass. Ostic, an assistant instructor with 3rd LE Battalion, is from Fort Collins, Colo.
