    Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point

    Hospital Corpsman Third Class Cheyenne Daugherty provided lifesaving aid to a motor vehicle accident victim in late August 2026, on I-95 near Lumberton, North Carolina.

    Daugherty, a native of Brevard, North Carolina, and a General Duty Corpsman serving at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Cherry Point, worked alongside a nurse to improvise a tourniquet to treat the victim’s compound fracture and render care until Lumberton Rescue and EMS arrived on the scene.
