Carlos Alberto Moutinho Vaz, Commander of the Brazilian Army Command and General Staff College, presents a key note address as part of the Mark Clark – Marshal Mascarenhas de Moraes Lecture Series at the Lewis and Clark Center on Fort Leavenworth on Friday, Sept. 9, 2026. The lecture series was established to commemorate the partnership between Lt. Gen. Mark W. Clark’s U.S. Fifth Army and Marshal Mascarenhas de Moraes’ Brazilian Expeditionary Force (Força Expedicionária Brasileira) during the 1944 Italian Campaign.
