Maj. Gen. Thomas Mancino, adjutant general for Oklahoma, delivers opening remarks during the Autonomy Oklahoma Symposium 2026 at the Peake, Oklahoma City, Sept. 15, 2026. Speaking on defense and artificial intelligence, Mancino discussed the evolution of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), the rapid acceleration of emerging technology and the importance of modernization as the military adapts to an increasingly complex operating environment. Autonomy Oklahoma brings together defense, government, industry and other experts to strengthen relationships and accelerate the integration of uncrewed and autonomous systems across homeland defense, commercial operations, security cooperation and other dual-use applications. “As we look back from the future, we won’t talk about the internet, we’ll talk about AI,” Mancino said.
