Small unmanned aircraft systems (SUAS) are displayed in the Autonomy and Navigation Technology Center at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Aug. 26, 2026. The lab, which focuses on autonomous and cooperative systems, non-GPS navigation, and GPS/GNSS navigation, displays research posters on aerial simultaneous localization and mapping using Earth's magnetic anomaly field and autonomy and cooperative control of small UAS systems on the wall behind the aircraft.
