    Soldiers stationed at Katterbach Kaserne sprint toward the finish line, during a memorial run held on Katterbach Kaserne on Sep. 9th, 2026. Soldiers, Firefighters, family members, and German partners from the Ansbach community to include the local German Fire Department and Mayor of Ansbach, gathered at Katterbach Kaserne on Sept. 11, 2026, to observe the anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The day’s remembrance activities began with a morning 9/11 memorial run across the airfield perimeter and concluded with a solemn installation memorial ceremony honoring the 2,977 lives lost, paying tribute to fallen first responders, and recognizing the sustained sacrifice and dedication of service members worldwide.(U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
