    Col. Richard Montcalm, commander of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, reflected on the significance of Sept. 11 and shared his personal experience during the attacks while closing a 9/11 Tribute physical training session at Hohenfels Training Area, Germany, Sept. 11, 2026. The brigade staff and battalion leaders, attending the Leader Training Program at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, completed symbolic exercises honoring victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks before Montcalm’s remarks on 9/11’s lasting impact.
