U.S. Army Lt. Col. Jared Wigton, 1-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, conducts a rehearsal of concept drill in preparation for the field training exercise portion of Southern Vanguard 2026, Sauce, Peru, Sept. 14. SV26 is hosted by the Peruvian Army (Ejército del Perú) in coordination with the U.S. Army Western Hemisphere Command at the Jungle School (Escuela De Selva) this month.
SV26 brings together approximately 400 warfighters to execute a field training exercise and command post exercise in a demanding austere jungle environment.
