A group of military personnel from what appears to be two different nations are gathered outdoors near a white building. Two senior officers — one in a green dress uniform with numerous decorations and a garrison cap, and one in camouflage — are posing together in the foreground, suggesting an official bilateral military meeting or visit. Additional soldiers in both U.S. Army combat uniforms and foreign camouflage uniforms are visible in the background.

Angolan Armed Forces Lt. Col. Pedro Silva, medical officer, and U.S. Army Col. John Knight, command surgeon, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), reunite during the Medical Readiness Exercise closing ceremony at Centro de Conferências 28 de Agosto, Luanda, Angola, Sept. 11, 2026. The two worked together more than 4 years ago to establish medical readiness exercises between the U.S. and Angola. SETAF-AF planned and executed the MEDREX, which brought 10 U.S. Army Reserve medical professionals together with Angolan counterparts for clinical collaboration and subject-matter expert exchanges.
