U.S., Peruvian and Chilean soldiers work together during jungle survival training at Exercise Southern Vanguard 26 in Sauce, Peru on Sept. 10, 2026. SV26 is a multilateral training exercise hosted by the Peruvian Army (Ejército del Perú) at their Jungle School (Escuela De Selva) in coordination with the U.S. Army Western Hemisphere Command.
SV26 brings together approximately 400 warfighters to execute a field training exercise and command post exercise in a demanding austere jungle environment. The training includes combined operations designed to simulate real-world contingencies in the complex terrain of the Amazon Jungle hills of Sauce, Peru. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt.
