U.S. Army Maj. Sean Marquis, executive officer, 2nd Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, alongside leadership from the British army’s B Squadron of the Light Dragoons, NATO Forward Land Forces (FLF) Battle Group-Poland, present a wreath to the monument honoring Polish Lt. Jarosław Daniel Poliszuk during the Polish Territorial Defence Force’s 44th Light Infantry Battalion commemorative receipt of a distinctive name, Sept. 12, 2026, in Ełk, Poland. The unit inherits the values, bravery, and historical ethos of that patron. In keeping with Polish military tradition, the ceremony included a Mass to bless the unit’s new designation and honor the memory of its patron. V Corps strongly encourages forward-deployed Soldiers, including those assigned to NATO’s FLF Battle Group–Poland, to participate in Polish historical and community events and honor the nation’s history.
