Naval Station Guantanamo Bay held a remembrance ceremony at the base fire station for the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks. During the ceremony, the base command master chief, chaplain and chief petty officer selects delivered remarks recapping the events and sacrifices of individuals on 9/11. While the scars remain, our Nation and Navy carry forward an unyielding legacy of resilience. Forged from the ashes of tragedy, USS New York (LPD 21), USS Arlington (LPD 24), and USS Somerset (LPD 25) stand as living testaments to that strength, carrying steel from the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville.
