    NAVAL STATION NORFOLK (Sept. 11, 2026) Cmdr. Mario Murphy, chaplain assigned to Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (SURFLANT), delivers the invocation during a wreath-laying ceremony in remembrance of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The ceremony honored the lives lost and recognized the lasting impact of the attacks on the nation, the military and communities across the country. SURFLANT mans, trains and equips assigned surface forces and shore activities, ensuring a capable force for conducting prompt and sustained operations in support of United States national interests.
