    U.S. Soldiers assigned to U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) conduct step-ups during a 9/11 solidarity event at Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy, Sept. 11, 2026. The event honored those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the first responders who ran toward the danger. SETAF-AF provides U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Army Europe and Africa a dedicated headquarters to synchronize Army activities in Africa and scalable crisis response options in Africa and Europe.
