Leadership from Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Europe, Africa, Central, the U.S. Air Force’s 496th Air Base Squadron, and construction contractor Eiffage Group cut a grand opening ribbon during a ceremony for a new airfield readiness facility at Morón Air Base, Spain, July 28, 2026. The new $25.3 million facility will store and protect critical airfield damage repair equipment valued at $48 million. NAVFAC EURAFCENT supports fleet commanders by providing engineering assessments and agile acquisition strategy, constructing and maintaining shore infrastructure, and maximizing force readiness to enhance warfighter capability.
