Active and retired surface warfare flag officers gather during the 2026 Surface Warfare Flag Officer Training Symposium (SWFOTS) at Naval Air Station North Island, Aug. 31–Sept. 2, 2026. Hosted by Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP), the three-day symposium brought leaders together to exchange candid feedback, align strategic goals with fleet requirements, and leverage decades of operational command experience. Discussions focused on connecting flag-level decision-making to the personnel, materiel and training necessary to generate combat-ready ships, strengthen warfighting cohesion and deliver credible naval power ready on arrival.
