ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Sep. 2, 2026) U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen who participated in an inaugural shipbuilding internship program learn from Capt. Li Sung, a Permanent Military Professor within the Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Department, in the Naval Academy's Hydromechanics Laboratory. As the undergraduate college of our country's naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
