U.S. Army Capt. Alicia Tutino, a veterinarian assigned to Pacific Partnership 2026 (PP26), speaks about animal first aid and emergency care during a PP26 medical symposium at Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara Sabah in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Sept. 8, 2026. At the event, military and civilian medical professionals from the U.S., Malaysia, and five partner nations worked together to exchange knowledge, with an intent to build host and partner nations’ resilience and capability to manage hazards such as flooding, earthquakes, and tsunamis. Now in its 22nd iteration, the Pacific Partnership series is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster management preparedness mission conducted in the region. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
