    U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Charles Fiduccia, an air defense systems technician with 12th Littoral Anti-Air Battalion, 12th Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, ground guides a Marine Air Defense Integrated System at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 28, 2026. The MADIS is the U.S. Marine Corps’ advanced mobile air defense system designed to detect, track, and neutralize drones and low-altitude aircraft using missiles, cannons, and electronic warfare. As the Marine Corps’ purpose-built Division for the littorals, 3rd Marine Division remains committed to enhancing its ability to operate in a contested littoral environment and enable the Joint Force. The Division continues to maintain a high degree of operational readiness and flexibility to ensure regional deterrence, contributing to our overall mission of maintaining peace and stability in the Pacific.
