An aerial photograph shows a large commercial fishing vessel with visible fire or burn damage on its deck, accompanied by a smaller patrol or response boat nearby. The fishing vessel appears to be stationary or moving slowly in open ocean waters, while the smaller boat is actively underway, leaving a visible wake. The scene suggests an emergency response or law enforcement interaction at sea.

U.S. Marines with Littoral Combat Force-24, and U.S. Sailors with San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS San Antonio (LPD 17), intercept a vessel of interest during a Maritime Interdiction Operation while underway in the Pacific Ocean, Sept. 7, 2026. U.S. military forces are deployed to the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility in support of Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere, Department of War-directed operations, and the President's priorities to disrupt illicit drug trafficking, deter malign actors and protect the homeland through continuous presence.
