Canadian Armed Forces Maj. Innocent Inienwe, a chaplain assigned to Pacific Partnership 2026 (PP26) under Canada’s Operation HORIZON, speaks with Malaysian religious and community leaders about faith-based disaster preparedness during a PP26 host nation outreach and disaster management lines of effort event at the Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara Sabah in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Sept. 4, 2026. These train-the-trainer community events provide focus on establishing key roles in disaster response preparedness, supporting government agencies, and demonstrating the creation of disaster “go” bags. Now in its 22nd iteration, the Pacific Partnership series is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster management preparedness mission conducted in the region. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
