Builder Constructionman Yaniyah Roberson, left, material liaison lead for the Pacific Partnership 2026 (PP26) engineering fly-in echelon, uses a brush on newly installed tiles alongside Republic of Korea Navy (ROK-N) Mr. SeongGyu Kim, ROK-N civilian engineering team electrician with PP26, and Malaysian Armed Forces service members, during an engineering project at the Babagon Toki Primary School in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Sept. 2, 2026. They installed 3,700 square feet of new non-slip tile in the outdoor assembly area, made interior electrical improvements, painted the exterior of four school buildings, and constructed a 7-by-9-foot observation deck and gazebo. This project contributes to the school’s safety, creating a brighter environment, and new opportunities for learning and exploration. Now in its 22nd iteration, the Pacific Partnership series is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster management preparedness mission conducted in the region. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
