U.S. Navy Builder 1st Class Charles Cash, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5, uses a multi-tool to conduct a tap test on tile to check for proper adhesion during a Pacific Partnership 2026 engineering line of effort project at Babagon Toki Primary School in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Aug. 21, 2026. They are installing 3,700 square feet of new non-slip tile in the outdoor assembly area, making interior electrical improvements, painting the exterior of four school buildings, and constructing a 7-by-9-foot observation deck and gazebo. Now in its 22nd iteration, the Pacific Partnership series is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster management preparedness mission conducted in the region. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
