Encik Muddin bin Beting, a representative from the Kota Kinabalu District Education Office, speaks during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a Pacific Partnership 2026 engineering line of effort construction project at Babagon Toki Primary School in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Sept. 4, 2026. They installed approximately 344 square meters of new non-slip tile in the outdoor assembly area, made interior electrical improvements, painted the exterior of four school buildings, and constructed an approximately 2.13-by-2.74-meter observation deck and gazebo. This project contributes to the school’s safety, creating a brighter environment, and new opportunities for learning and exploration. Now in its 22nd iteration, the Pacific Partnership series is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster management preparedness mission conducted in the region. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.
