    U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Tim Mallender, an Avionics Electrical Technician aboard Legend-class maritime security cutter USCGC Bertholf (WMSL 750), reconnects the gear indicator light on an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter after night flight operations in the Indo-Pacific Ocean, Aug. 28, 2026. Maintenance crews on Bertholf perform preventive maintenance to keep aerial assets mission-capable and ready for operations in the Indo-Pacific. Bertholf is forward-deployed and currently assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force. U.S. 7th Fleet, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
