LTC Douglas D. Droesch, commander for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Walla Walla District surveys the skeleton bay of Dworshak Dam while on a visit to the structure. The flooded skeleton bay will eventually be home to the new unit four turbine.
Dworshak Dam was authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1962. The project includes a dam, powerhouse, and Dworshak National Fish Hatchery. It provides flood control, hydropower, outdoor recreation, and fish and wildlife benefits.
