A Falcon Heavy rocket carrying NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope successfully launches from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center, Florida, on Aug. 30, 2026. Following liftoff, Falcon Heavy placed Roman on its trajectory toward the second Sun-Earth Lagrange point, or L2, where the observatory will conduct wide-field infrared surveys to study dark energy, dark matter, galaxies and planets beyond our solar system.
