Participants in the Royal Danish Air Force March trek around Sherman Army Airfield Aug. 28. The march route began at SAAF, did one lap around the airfield, two laps around Sheridan Avenue, and ended at the airfield start point. More than 600 service members, veterans and Department of War civilians participated in the 20kilometer march carrying 10 kilograms of dry weight, demonstrating physical endurance, mental resilience and unit esprit de corps. The event was conducted in conjunction with the primary march at Air Base Karup, Denmark, under official authorization from the Royal Danish Air Force A7 Training and Exercises Office. Participants who successfully completed the march received the official Flyver medal, ribbon and certificate in accordance with current award policy. The Fort Leavenworth Royal Danish Air Force March was organized by the 308th Psychological Operations Company, based in Belton, Missouri, supporting readiness, allied connection and community participation.
