    KEFLAVIK AIR BASE, Iceland (Sept. 2, 2026) U.S. Navy Lt. Arthur Hines, 22nd Naval Construction Regiment operations officers, left, and CDR.s.g. Marvin Ingolfsson Keflavik Deputy Base Commander/deputy director of defense division, Northern Viking 2026 Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for Iceland, recognize the completion of an Arctic Bee Hut during Northern Viking 26 (NV26) at Keflavik Air Base, Iceland, Sept. 27, 2026. NV26 strengthens interoperability and force readiness between the U.S., Iceland and Allied nations, enabling multi-domain command and control of joint and coalition forces in the defense of Iceland and sea lines of communication in the Greenland-Iceland-United Kingdom (GIUK) gap.
