A military helicopter, appearing to be a Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk or similar naval variant, flies low over a blue coastal body of water near a sandy beach. The helicopter is painted in a light gray naval color scheme and is flying parallel to a shoreline backed by white buildings and a green, tree-covered hill. The rotor wash is visibly disturbing the water surface below the aircraft.

260820-N-RB013-1039 NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain (Aug. 20, 2026) An MH-60R Seahawk, helicopter attached to the “Griffins” Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 79, flies near Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota, Spain, Aug. 20, 2026. As the "Gateway to the Mediterranean,” NAVSTA Rota provides U.S., NATO, and allied forces a strategic hub for operations wherever and whenever they are needed. NAVSTA Rota is a force multiplier, capable of promptly deploying and sustaining combat-ready forces through land, air, and sea, supporting warfighters and their families, and fostering the U.S. and Spanish relationship.
