    Soldiers assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division (Multi-Domain Command-Pacific) grab hand tools to clear brush prior to a firing operations on the Little Giant Fire near Plain, Washington, Aug. 28, 2026 . Approximately 250 active-duty U.S. Army soldiers are currently mobilized as hand crews to assist with wildfire suppression efforts at the request of the National Multi-Agency Coordinating Group (NMAC) located at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.
