    U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe and Africa     

    U.S. Marines with Marine Air Support Squadron 1, Marine Air Control Group 28, and Fire Support Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, set up a command and control node on Jan Mayen, Norway, Aug. 29, 2026, during Atlantic City 26. The operation is a Norwegian-led trilateral readiness initiative with the United Kingdom and United States, designed to develop and demonstrate expeditionary advanced base capabilities, and validate combined fires, maritime domain awareness, and sea denial to reinforce the security and stability of the High North.
