    Soldiers assigned to the 1st Infantry Division Band and the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard participate in the 157th annual Wakefield Birthday Bash in Wakefield, Kansas, Aug. 29, 2026. The event brought the local community and Fort Riley together to celebrate Wakefield’s 157th anniversary and commemorate the 250th birthday of the United States, while highlighting the longstanding relationship between the 1st Infantry Division and the communities surrounding Fort Riley.
