Mariott Reid, a combat engineer both with Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, weld a support beam for prefabricated brackets during barrier reinforcement operations in Nogales, Arizona, Aug. 25, 2026. The barrier emplacement supports military support operations along the southern border. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
