North Carolina National Guard Army 1st Sgt. John Clem checks on Sgt. Steven Rodgers, 1st Lt. Lindsey Blare and Spc. Nickole Reburn of the 430th Explosive Ordnance Detachment just after the soldiers set up their "shots" and were ready to head back to the bunker to ignite the "shots" on Range 4D on Fort Pickett, Va., during this year's annual training exercise recently. The 430th’s soldiers conducted hands-on classes in the basics of demolition, using percussion actuated neutralizers, modular demolition initiators, timed fuses, blasting caps and small arms and mortar rounds.
