Work continues at the Lock and Dam 22 Fish Passage Project as part of the Navigation and Ecosystem Sustainability Program. This #NESP project near Saverton, Missouri, will increase access to upstream habitats and improve the size and distribution of native migratory fish populations in the area. This project is a first of its kind on the Upper Mississippi River.
This week, the Quad Cities Heavy Lift Crane was on-site to place the largest piece of the debris boom. The fixed debris boom will protect the fish passage from large woody debris and ice and will also serve as a safe platform for monitoring and fish management activities.
