The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Center of Standardization for Nonpermanent Facilities maintains a library of 7 site-adapt building designs known as envelopes that can be readily adapted for almost any use. The envelopes can all be constructed using local materials and minimal heavy equipment use, making a Nonpermanent design a faster, less expensive alter-native to traditional permanent design and construction methods.
